"You're soaked, little brother."

"Don't care." Gaheris flings off his wet cloak, turning away.

"I care."

"Shut up. I don't need a nursemaid."

"I know what you need." Mordred never means to reach for him, never means to do this again, but he reads the signs in Gaheris' tense shoulders. He rises, takes his brother firmly by the arm and turns him so they're face to face. "Little fool. Come to bed."

Gaheris embraces him with a shuddering sigh. Mordred kisses the side of his neck, stifling his own qualms; these are the only times he's ever seen Gaheris content.
