In the second year, Vivien comes secretly to Camelot, cloaked in autumn rain. "What do you want?" Mordred asks her bluntly, and she laughs.

"Thy father was more gracious. Are we not allies?"

"Are we?"

"We had a common enemy."

"Your lover, lady?" He almost laughs. "You buried the old liar too late for me."

"I loved him," Vivien says quietly, "though he betrayed me first."

Her eyes are sea-grey, glittering. Watching her, Mordred feels a familiar cold, the wind of home.

"I'll tell thee what I want," she says, "in private."

Mordred kisses her, hard. "Come with me, then."

Oh, Viv.

(my gut instinct is to apologise. "I'm sorry, Vivienne!")

There is so much good subtext and really it should not be this provocative, one hundred words with just one kiss. It is.

Dude, there is NO REASON to apologize to Vivien. XD She's an awful, awful, scary woman, and they deserve each other.

^___^

I wish you'd consider friends locking your journal and sending some of your ficlets to online zines for wider distribution (the friends locking is so that they aren't considered already 'published') - as an editor of two e-zines, I'd definitely be interested. We don't pay (yet) but we do get wide audiences. More info if wanted!

Most of them are too fragmentary anyway. *g* But info would be appreciated all the same! You never know, I might try writing for publication again one of these days.

I shan't give the URLs in case they don't appeal to LJ/6A with their new links policy - but, using the www. route, check out gayflashfiction.com and forbiddenfruitzine.com - I'm one of the editing team on the first and about to be one of the editing team on the second. There's a high demand for legend, fantasy, romance etc., especially when it's well written. For the flashfic zine in particular, fragmentary is exactly what we want! Note that it only needs to be GLBT-friendly, and we want erotica, not porn.
